Cardiac Rehabilitation

Patients with coronary artery disease can get help with cardiac rehabilitation from Salem Hospital nurses, exercise specialists and dietitians.

If one or more of these conditions applies to you, your physician might refer you for rehabilitation:

  • Coronary artery bypass surgery or valvular surgery
  • Heart attack
  • Procedures such as angioplasty or coronary stent placement

Cardiac rehabilitation is a monitored exercise and educational program that helps people make the necessary lifestyle changes for a healthy heart, and to develop a safe and effective home-exercise program.

Additional services include:

  • Mental health counseling
  • Psychiatry
  • Nutritional counseling
  • Vocational rehabilitation

Salem Hospital’s cardiac rehabilitation program is accredited by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR).
