Parking
If mom would prefer to not walk in from the parking lot, the circle drive, closeby the entrance, can be used for short term, 15 minute, parking.

After mom has been admitted, please move the vehicle over to the open parking lot or visitor parking garage. All visitors and support persons must use the visitor parking areas.

There is no public sky bridge access to the Family Birth Center. The front entrance of the building on the ground level is the only way for the patients and public to get into the building.

Admitting
Check in with the Admitting registrar at the main desk on the first floor of the Family Birth Center.

Consents
When you come to the hospital for care, you will be asked to sign the Conditions of Admission (COA).

When signing the COA, you are agreeing to the financial statement and general hospital care. Unless otherwise requested, you are agreeing to be part of the Patient Directory, which lists name, location and general condition.

This means if someone calls the hospital asking about you, we will tell him or her, you are a patient at Salem Hospital and report your condition, i.e. delivered or not delivered.

If you do not want us to give out this information, you need to tell us when you are admitted. You can choose to not be a part of the Patient Directory. This means if anyone calls asking about you, we would not even tell them you are not listed in the Directory.

If you have any questions about this, please ask the registrar when you are pre-registering or checking in at the time of delivery.

You'll be given an identification bracelet to wear. You will be directed to the 3rd floow where a nurse will greet you and take you and your support person to a room.

Access after hours
If the front door is locked, use the white access pole to the right of the front entrance. Push the button to the area you'd like to go. Staff will talk to you through the intercom and be able to see you through the camera.
