Cardiac rehabilitation

Salem Hospital cardiac rehabilitation program is designed to help people recover successfully from a heart attack, coronary artery bypass surgery, valvular surgery, angioplasty or stent.

You may also be a candidate if you're at high risk for heart disease, if you have stable angina, or congestive heart failure. This program of education and exercise begins in the hospital with counseling from dietitians and nurses with ongoing support in the outpatient setting.

The outpatient program includes a supervised exercise program, diet education and psychological and emotional support.

Exercise and recovery are monitored in collaboration with your physicians and our rehabilitation staff to provide a safe, fun, and educational environment to learn the tools for long-term lifestyle changes.
