This department oversees the general health status of all employees, perform pre-employment screening, and provide care and assistance to managers and employees in matters of workers' compensation and safety and wellness pursuits.
Scope of Patient Care
Employee Health and Fitness services are provided to all employees of the hospitals. Immunization and medical surveillance are provided as appropriate to Medical Staff, volunteers, and their family members.
Department Duties
- Employee Infection Control
- Responsible for medical surveillance, communicable disease follow-up, Joint Commission and OSHA compliance, and supervising sub-contractors.
- Injury and Illness Prevention
- Responsible for first aid, immunizations, ergonomics, safe patient handling, pre-placement assessments.
- Disability Management
- Responsible for workers compensation case management, transitional work coordination, job analysis and transitional work development.
- Wellness
- Responsible for fitness center management, promotion and coordination of wellness opportunities with Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and health insurance providers, development and implementation of wellness activities.
