Emergency Services

Emergency Services are provided by the hospital’s Emergency Department, Trauma Services, and Urgent Care Center.

Scope of Patient Care

  • Emergency Department
    • Offer a patient assessment, treatment, and differentiated disposition for admission or outpatient referral.
  • Urgent Care Center
    • A financially reasonable alternative from the ED for patients seeking assessment and treatment for minor ailments or injuries.

Department Duties

  • Emergency Department
    • Level III Trauma Center based on Oregon Health Division Trauma criteria.
    • Provide discharge instructions, referral for continued care with a community physician, or admission to the hospital as an inpatient or an observation patient.
    • Provide services for critical care, trauma, pediatrics, mental health, obstetrics and gynecology, and general exams and treatment.
  • Urgent Care Center
    • Patients are seen for assessment and treatment for minor ailments or injuries such as:  upper respiratory/sinus infections, sore throat, ear pain, lacerations (simple), sprains, back pain (ambulatory), asthma (mild), gastrointestinal-mild (diarrhea), simple fractures of extremities only, urinary tract infection, or fever
