This department is under the direction of the Care Management department, which provides care management, social work and interpreter services to Salem Hospital patients and families within the context of an interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Scope of Patient Care 
Interpreter Services offers various types of language assistance to patients and families of Salem Hospital. 

Department Duties

• Foreign Language Interpretation/Translation (Spanish/Russian).
• Organizational policy/procedure for service provision when “effective communication is necessary to ensure patient is receiving equal services and equal opportunity to benefit from hospital services.”
• Telecommunications access to foreign language interpreters and TDD service.
• Coordination of contract foreign language providers.
