This department is responsible for the development and support of a variety of hospital programs and community programs.
Scope of Patient Care
The Marketing and Communications Department provides care indirectly via five support positions within Salem Hospital.
Department Duties
- Supports:
- Marketing of programs and services, advertisements (Brochures, pamphlets, newsletters, newspaper, radio, television, outdoor, and video).
- Public relations for all hospital services.
- Both internal and external communication pieces (Messenger, FYI, select information to the Intranet web page and Internet web page).
- Media relations (interviews, photographs, press releases, public service announcements, and role in Code D protocols).
- Coordination of the Salem Hospital collection and reporting of Community benefits information.
- Coordination of the Community perception studies, data collection from surveys and reporting.
- Community outreach and education (Calls, inquiries, classes, forums, contribute to community education via health related articles in local papers and radio, speaker’s bureau, special events, partnering with other area non-profit organizations, sponsorships, and donations).
- Monitoring of legislative and government issues.
