This department provides four main areas of responsibility: Quality Monitoring/ Performance Improvement, Infection Control, Survey Readiness, Patient Safety, and oversight of Clinical Research.
Scope of Patient Care
The Process Improvement department works in collaboration with the Medical Staff office, physicians, all other Salem Hospital departments, administration, patients, various regulatory agencies, legal council, and the State and County Health Departments.
Department Duties
- Quality Monitoring/Performance Improvement (PI)
- Provide services for medical staff/ associate staff monitoring, medical staff quality improvement and peer review activities, and also biannual medical staff reappointment.
- Provide support to hospital wide performance improvement activities including facilitation of Process Improvement Committees, PI Teams and consultation to Service Lines and clinical areas regarding PI.
- Give support to the Board of Trustees Quality Committee.
