Scope of Patient Care
Department Duties
- Intervene when individuals are disruptive or may threaten the safety and security of patients, visitors, and/or staff.
- Investigate theft and/or accidents.
- Respond to safety codes.
- Assist vehicles.
- Transport patients.
- Parking enforcement.
- Enforce smoking and various hospital policies.
- Visitor and employee escort services to and from parking areas.
- Liaison between the hospital and a variety of community law enforcement bodies.
Department Professionals
- Security Manager
- Security Officer
Educational/Skill Requirements
- Experience and training as law enforcement officers in either civilian or military arenas.
- Certified by the State of Oregon.
