Scope of Patient Care 

Department Duties

• Intervene when individuals are disruptive or may threaten the safety and security of patients, visitors, and/or staff.
• Investigate theft and/or accidents.
• Respond to safety codes.
• Assist vehicles.
• Transport patients.
• Parking enforcement.
• Enforce smoking and various hospital policies.
• Visitor and employee escort services to and from parking areas.
• Liaison between the hospital and a variety of community law enforcement bodies. 

Department Professionals

• Security Manager
• Security Officer

Educational/Skill Requirements

• Experience and training as law enforcement officers in either civilian or military arenas.
• Certified by the State of Oregon.
