This department offers perinatal and pediatric care, specifically: labor and delivery and antepartum, mother-baby, neonatal intensive care nursery (NICU), pediatrics and an OB Clinic.
Scope of Patient Care
Women’s and Children’s Services uses a family-centered approach in providing individualized care for: Inpatient Level III antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum services for women and their families; normal newborns; potential for or acutely ill newborns at the intermediate care level; acutely ill or injured infants and children ages birth, 26 weeks gestation, to adolescence, as well as older mentally and physically handicapped patients; approximately 24/year and some medical/surgical patients.
Department Duties
- Services Include:
- Full scope OB clinic.
- Comprehensive family education program providing childbirth preparation and other specialty classes.
- Lactation services consisting of both inpatient and outpatient lactation consultation and support.
- Ill child care for hospital employees’ and medical staff children while their parents are at work.

- Certified Nurse Midwives (CNMs)/Nurse Practitioners
- Registered Nurses
- Other nursing staff under the direction of the RN: Social Worker, Interpretive Services staff, Dietitian, IV Therapist, Care Management Coordinator, Pharmacist, Respiratory Therapist, and Therapy staff
