Practicum/Internship

The practicum is a series of job shadows that allows you to experience several different areas of healthcare. Students are typically assigned to a different department on each visit to the hospital and are expected to ask advanced questions.

The internship is usually for college students who are required to complete intensive projects in a healthcare setting. They have very specific career and patient care questions, depending on their interests and goals.

Students participating in an internship often complete community outreach and educational projects on behalf of the hospital, and may be conducting research for an academic paper or project.

1. are applying to this program for your Health Occupations hospital practicum
2. are interested in shadowing more than one time
3. are not interested in volunteering at the hospital
