Professional Student

Placement as a professional student requires the student to be enrolled in an accredited university or college training program that leads directly to certification, registration or licensure in a health care profession.

Salem Hospital and West Valley Hospital have contracts with colleges throughout the nation to provide professional training for their clinical or business students.

Placements are arranged directly by the educational institution and the hospitals. Interested students whose schools do not presently have a contract with our hospitals are encouraged to discuss their interest with their schools.

Salem Hospital healtcare and administrative teams will seek to engage professional students in activities within their scope to enhance their learning experience.

Prior to placement at either hospital, students have the opportunity through this website to learn more about the hospitals’ services, and are encouraged to do so. Once on site, the students will proceed through the same orientation process as any new employee.

The application is to provide the hospital with necessary information to arrange your orientation and placement.
