BIO Before medical school, Dr. Williamson served as a professor of physics at the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School for more than five years. While there, he had the opportunity to learn the art of medical physics serving as a consultant at the local hospital and his interests transitioned to clinical radiation oncology. When away from clinic and computer, he enjoys family activities with grandsons living just down the street, yard work, and learning new wood and metalworking skills.

Clinical Interests Dr. Williamson has always found great interest and satisfaction in the diversity of the human and technical challenges the radiation oncologist must deal with. In a parallel career, he has been involved in the development of treatment planning computer systems and a 40-year interest in collection and analysis of clinical data. He currently works with multiple cancer programs in the U.S. and abroad developing computer software in support of quality assurance and outcome analysis.
