Be Proactive About Your Health

Join us for a forum on “Hypertension in the 21st Century: Why do I need to know my blood pressure?”

Did you know that one in four adults has high blood pressure and that one third of them don’t know it?

Often called “the silent killer” because it sneaks up on its victims without warning, high blood pressure is one of the most significant risk factors for heart attack and stroke. It’s also a major contributor to kidney cancer.

At the forum, you will learn:
• How to tell if your blood pressure is too high
• How to treat high blood pressure with and without medication
• Why treatment is critical to your health

Guest speaker Jennifer Neahring, M.D., is a practicing nephrologist who has been affiliated with Salem Hospital since 1998. She received her medical education from Northwestern University in Chicago, and completed a fellowship in nephrology and hypertension at the University of Iowa.

The Details
