Lifeline Lifeline gives people the confidence and freedom they need to live on their own, because someone is always standing by to help, whenever help is needed -- 24 hours a day, seven days a week...at the press of a button. Lifeline is an emergency response system in the homes of hundreds of Salem and Mid-Willamette Valley residents. One press of a lightweight help button worn on the wrist or around the neck activates a small in-home unit, called a communicator. It puts the Lifeline subscriber in touch with a caring Lifeline monitor, who determines the kind of help needed and sends someone to respond. Cost of this system is an installation fee and $35/$45 a month, depending on the model you select. For more information or to sign up, call Salem Hospital's Lifeline program.
