| Health Tip - Time is Brain! |
| |
Recognizing the symptoms of stroke is critical to minimizing stroke’s effects, even saving someone’s life.
A stroke stops blood flow to part of the brain. Cells in that area quickly begin to die.
Calling 911 and getting treatment sooner means the brain is less likely to suffer permanent damage.
Stroke’s common symptoms:
- Sudden weakness or numbness in the face, arms, or legs, especially on one side of the body
- Sudden confusion, or difficulty speaking or understanding speech
- Sudden vision problems, (blurry vision, partial or complete blindness in one or both eyes)
- Sudden dizziness, trouble walking, or loss of balance and coordination
- Sudden severe headache with no known cause.
