Salem Hospital's new state-of-the-art Center for Outpatient Medicine is designed, built and operated around the needs of our patients and their families.
The consolidation of outpatient programs ranging from surgery and radiation oncology to the travel and immunization center provides members of our community with easy access to a variety of healthcare services. For added convenience, skybridges connect the center to the parking structure and the hospital.

| Endoscopy means "a visual inspection of any cavity of the body by means of an endoscope." An endoscope is a hollow tube-like instrument that contains a small camera and light that allows physicians to view areas of the body such as the stomach, colon or lung where they may see a tumor, ulcer or growth. |

| Imaging |
Diagnostic imaging services in the Center include Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), ultrasound and mammography, including stereotactic needle placement, computerized tomography (CT), and routine X-rays. Appointments for PET Scanning can also be arranged by calling (503) 561-5293.

| Radiation Oncology |
| Salem Hospital's Regional Cancer Center is one of the largest full service cancer programs in the Northwest, and is the largest in the mid-Willamette Valley. With ten cancer specialists, state-of-the-art equipment and a highly trained technical and nursing staff, the hospital offers a full range of services including diagnosis, education and treatment. |

| Sleep Disorders Center |
|
The Center treats sleep-related problems such as not being able to stay awake or go to sleep, sleepwalking, nightmares, insomnia, restless legs syndrome, snoring and sleep apnea. The new center features six sleep study rooms. Five physicians evaluate patients, while sleep technologists, assistants and clerical support help make the center operate soundly.

| Surgery Suites |
|
The Center has ten surgery rooms complete with some of the latest technological advances in surgical equipment. Six rooms include teleboom units. The booms are suspended from the ceiling and contain high-tech medical equipment, and electrical outlets. The boom is the first of its kind to be installed in the Salem area, and is used extensively by surgeons offering the latest laparoscopic treatments for a number of conditions. Another room is used exclusively for complex eye surgeries. |
