Outpatient Musculoskeletal Therapies

Specialists in the Rehabilitation of Orthopedic Injuries and Repairs, Chronic Pain, Arthritis Management,  Hand Therapy, and Lymphedema in Children, Adolescents, Adults, and the Elderly

 The outpatient orthopedic physical therapy clinic offers a wide variety of services to best meet the needs of all age groups.  The staff has specialized training in manual therapy, lymphedema, hand therapy, and low back pain, in addition to general orthopedic training. 

Each patient receives a comprehensive evaluation and plan of treatment specifically developed to meet the rehabilitation needs. This plan involves the referring physician, therapists, patient and family members.

Specialty Programs and Services
  All programs are available to patients with a physician referral.

Hand Therapy Program
 

This program provides a specialized and custom evaluation and treatment plan for shoulder, arm, and hand injuries and repairs. 

Certified hand therapists are highly trained in constructing specialized and custom-fitted splints.  

Appointments are available early morning and late afternoon to accommodate patients. 

Therapists provide specialized services for patients with hand and upper extremity related injuries. 

Clinical expertise in tendon/nerve repair, nerve compression, arthritis care, fracture management of the upper extremity, and customized splinting.


Aquatic Therapy
 

Therapists use pool therapy to facilitate treatments.  The warm water pool aids in improving movement and strength. 

Available classes include Pregnant Moms and STAR (Swim Therapy Advanced Rehabilitation) Tai Chi.   All classes and individual treatments require a physician’s referral.


Lymphedema
 

Trained lymphedema therapists develop a customized program that will include some or all of the following:

  • Short stretch bandaging
  • Manual lymphatic drainage
  • Exercise
  • Education
  • Compression sleeve

The physical therapist will evaluate the swelling, shoulder and general physical abilities. A program will be designed to allow the patient to better manage the edema on an independent level.
