After you are discharged from the hospital, it is important for you to continue your rehabilitation to successfully regain normal knee function.
At the Salem Health Rehabilitation Center an outpatient therapist will develop an exercise program to help guide you through the complete rehabilitation of your knee joint.
In outpatient rehabilitation, your therapist will provide guidance on knee care, at-home exercises, and how to help control pain and reduce swelling around the surgical site and joint. Exercises are designed to help you build strength in the muscles supporting your knee joint.
Aquatic therapy, stationary cycling and a walking regiment may be incorporated into your recovery program.
