About our weight loss surgery program

Welcome to the Bariatric Surgery Center at Salem Hospital.

We offer a multi-disciplinary team approach for weight loss surgery.

Evaluations are done with different disciplines that combine to provide you with the highest quality surgical weight loss.

Prior to surgery each patient:

Will have a thorough medical evaluation by one of our surgeons
Undergo a psychological/psychiatric evaluation to assess readiness for surgery, expectations for results
Undergo a preoperative education and consultation regarding nutrition.
Have a fitness evaluation by our exercise specialist
Receive surgical care and follow-up.

All patients are strongly encouraged to become involved in our support group. This increases the chances of long-term success.
