Tom’s Story
My health was getting worse. I was taking up to eight shots per day plus other medications for diabetes.
In addition, I took two prescriptions for blood pressure and one for cholesterol, and I wore a sleep apnea mask. For years I tried dieting but couldn’t lose weight and keep it off.
I learned that bariatric surgery was a tool to help me make lifestyle changes and put the odds in my favor for keeping the weight off.
Today I maintain a healthy diet, and I don’t have to take diabetic medications or use a sleep apnea mask.
I still attend support group meetings because they reinforce my lifestyle changes. I spent a month in Europe and was able to walk all day and I had energy to enjoy everything!
