Smoking
Being in the hospital might have forced you to stop smoking. It is very important that you maintain this behavior.
Stopping smoking might be one of the hardest things for you to do. However, it is one of the best things you can do for your heart and your health. It is never too late to stop smoking!
To help you quit, Salem Hospital offers the Fresh Start Smoking Cessation program. Classes are led by knowledgeable instructors in a positive, supportive atmosphere.
Over the course of the program, the staff will work with you to develop a plan for quitting and staying tobacco-free, provide information on smoking-cessation strategies, teach you how to handle cravings, stress management, relaxation techniques, nutrition and exercise, and healthy living. Classes meet regularly.
