Education Assistance Programs & Applications
Education Assistance Programs
There are many nontraditional programs advertised that seem like a great opportunity. When thinking about investing time and money into a program, there are a number of things to consider:
- Is the program accredited? By the board?
- What have you heard about the quality of the program?
For programs requiring clinical experience, Salem & West Valley Hospitals have contracts with certain programs as a clinical facility.
Most all of these programs are traditional in-state programs.
There is a limited number of clinical space availability, therefore it is encouraged that you check with the Health Careers Specialist on the program you are interested in, especially if it is a non-traditional and/or out-of-state program.
Nursing Scholarships Available
There are a number of scholarships available for students pursuing all levels of education in nursing.
All awards have various criteria for recipients, which may include financial need, academic achievement and involvement in community service.
Some of these funds are available to only minority nursing students (which are listed in red). Scholarship resources were taken from Minority Nurse, Fall 2005 publication.
