Practicum

The practicum is a series of job shadows that allows you to experience several different areas of healthcare.

Students are typically assigned to a different department on each visit to the hospital and are expected to ask advanced questions.

Students participating in a practicum often complete community outreach and educational projects on behalf of the hospital, and may conduct research for an academic paper or project.

You should apply for this experience if you are:

• Applying to this program for your health occupations hospital practicum
• Interested in shadowing more than one time
• Not interested in volunteering at the hospital
• 14 years old or older

All applications will be reviewed for accuracy and completeness. Application does not guarantee acceptance into the program.

Be sure you apply for the correct experience! You will be asked to re-apply if the correct application is not used the first time.
