Parking and Access

If mom would prefer to not walk, there is a dropoff area on the east side of Building D, where the Family Birth Center is located, 939 Oak St. SE. This dropoff area is close by the Building D entrance.

The drop off area is to be used for short-term, 15 minute, parking between the hours of 5 a.m. to 9 p.m.

After mom has been admitted, please move your vehicle over to the visitor parking garage on the corner of Mission St. and Capitol St. SE. All visitors and support persons must use the visitor parking garage.

Access after hours

Late at night, between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. enter the Emergency Department in Building A at 890 Oak St. SE. It is a short walk from the visitor parking garage to the ED entrance.

However, if it's an emergency, please use the emergency dropoff area to the east of Building A. A security officer will park your car for you and return your keys with a map showing where your vehicle has been parked.

There is also patient emergency parking in this area if you have time to park the vehicle. This is a gated area. Click here for more information about parking in the patient gated areas.

There is a skybridge connecting the Building A to Building D where the Family Birth Center is located. Late at night, staff will escort you and your support person over to the Family Birth Center.

After 9 p.m. other family members need to enter through the ED entrance as well. They will be given a map to help guide them to your room.

Admitting

Check in with the admitting registrar at the desk on the third floor of the Family Birth Center. Late at night, the registrar will come to your bedside to register you for your hospital stay.
