Recovery
After a vaginal delivery, you will recover in the same room for an hour or two. Following a cesarean birth, you will spend a couple of hours in the surgery recovery room.
We will frequently evaluate you to ensure any pain you may be having is well controlled, and that you have minimal bleeding. This is a time to get to know your baby and rest a moment.
We will facilitate you bonding with your newborn and assist you with baby’s first feeding. We will also weigh and measure your newborn.
When you are stable, your nurse will transport you and your baby to a private room on the Mother Baby Unit to continue your stay with us.
