Having a baby
At Salem Hospital, we know that few events are as exciting in the life of a family as the birth of a child.
Thank you for entrusting us with your care during this special time in your life. Our goal is to provide a birthing environment that is positive, compassionate, respectful, professional and safe.
To meet these high standards, we have outlined some steps along the journey. As always, specific questions and concerns can best be answered by your individual healthcare provider.
You may contact the Family Educator nurse at 503-562-5160 for more information about maternity services or care options for you and your new baby.
Classes and Tours
Classes and Tours for Expectant and New Parents are offered through Salem Hospital’s Education Services.
Feel welcome to look at one of our brochures which lists a wide variety of birth preparation and parenting classes.
Tours of the Family Birth Center are offered throughout the month at various times. Plan to take a tour of the facility well before your delivery due date.
Cards listing the tour dates and times are located in all the lobbies and in the Expectant and New Parent class brochure.
Family Care Guide
We’ve put together the Family Care Guide to help make the process a little bit easier for you every step of the way—from before your baby is born, to the actual delivery and hospital stay, to the care and feeding of your newest family member.
The Family Care Guide is avaiable through your clinic or healthcare provider's office.
